The Battle of Eggmühl during the Napoleonic Wars between Austria and France. The battle of Eggmühl which followed the battles of Abensburg and Landshut are well documented and illustrated in the military book Eggmühl 1809, Storm Over Bavaria by celebrated military author Ian Castle. This authoritative account is published by Osprey, available from the Military Print Company.

This account focuses on the early part of the campaign between Austria and France, providing a companion narrative to Campaign 33, Aspern & Wagram 1809. The Author deals with the changes in the armies following Austria's defeat in 1805, and builds through the clashes at Teugn-Hausen, Abensburg, and Lanshut to culminate in the Battle of Eggmühl. Neither Charles nor Napoleon were to achieve their objectives at Eggmühl - but the ground had been prepared for a bloody end to the 1809 campaign.

The Texan Army 1835 - 46 by Stuart Reid

The Texan Army 1835 - 46 by Stuart Reid The volunteer army that fought the Mexican dictator Santa Anna from 1835 to 1836 was immortalized in the epic battle of the Alamo. Taking arms initially to fight for the restoration of the liberal Mexican constitution of 1824, the volunteers were eventually fighting for outright Texan independence. This book describes and illustrates the group of men who, despite the diversity of their origins, equipment, weaponry and dress, were united in a common cause that reached its culmination in the victory of San Jacinto. The turbulent decade (1836 - 46) of Texan independence is also covered, and the little studied army and navy of the Republic of Texas examined.
