Chickamauga 1863, The River of Death by James Arnold

Chickamauga - an Indian name meaning 'River of Death' - was one of the bloodiest battles of the American Civil War. Fought in densely wooded terrain just south of Chattanooga, this was to be the greatest western-theatre battle of the conflict, a hard fought victory for the Confederates that halted the advance of Rosecrans' Union Army of Cumberland into Tennessee. The author, Jim Arnold, lives in Virginia and has contributed several previous volumes to the series.

More than 90 illustrations, including maps, charts and colour plates accompany the critical stages of the campaign. Each volume concludes with a brief guide to the battlefield today, and detailed notes for wargamers.
